Book Art
Dreads by Francesco Mastalia and Alfonse Pagano
Some years ago my husband and I went to visit his family in Boston. While chillin in the living room of his cousin's house I noticed this beautiful book cover. I was immediately drawn to it because of the beautiful and earthy dreadlocked Queen on the cover. I kept thinking wow that cover is so beautiful!! After getting over the stunning cover I decided to open it up and read some pages. I was stunned again by the pages in this book! This book is full of amazing photographs and testimonies of what wearing dreads has meant to each individual. I read that whole book that day! I could not put it down! Years later I got this book for my sister for Christmas. -:)
At the time I read this book I was rocking my natural hair. I was a loose natural sistah for 11 years before I decided to lock my hair. I loved rocking my afro, afro puffs, bantu knots, corn rows. I have been locked for 4 years now!-:)
